Principal Specialist: Finance Business Partner - CBU and FTTX at Vodacom

The Principal Specialist is responsible for providing financial analysis and delivering insights on financial reports and forecasting to the FTXX (Fibre to the home channel) and Consumer Business Unit (CBU) executive team and Vodacom South Africa finance team.

CBU Leadership Team Reporting

Responsibilities for this role will include:

Prepare financial analysis and commentary for the CBU for Vodacom executive management (monthly) and on an adhoc basis:
P&L analysis and commentary
Trend and variance analysis
Actionable insights and recommendations
Insightful management information with a strong focus on division’s key targets expected future results
Related ad-hoc activities including detailed analysis

Monthly Operational Reporting

Design and deliver monthly operational report for total direct costs, Opex and A&R costs to the consumer executive management team through:

Performance tracking of total FTTX P&L direct costs actuals vs budget – tracking and analysis of variances and performance, and investigation behind drivers of the variances to deliver necessary commentary and impact on P&L Contribution margin
Tracking, analysis and reporting of the total A&R costs(Paid view to Reported view), alignment with Finance Business Partners and FP&A team on amortisation treatments and reporting thereof..
Tracking of financial performance of total FTTH Opex costs actuals vs budget – tracking and analysis of variance and performance investigation behind drivers of the variance to deliver necessary commentary and impact on P&L Contribution margin
Lead the finance support to the CBU leadership team in tracking and analysis of the total CBU capex spend alignment on spend with Group Technology team

Financial Planning

Support the CBU financial planning processes in the preparation of
Budgets and financial planning reviews
Financial modelling as per requests
Rolling forecasts (monthly) – Opex, Direct costs and A&R
Risk and opportunity reviews for CBU capex
Collation, creating and review of FTTH opex budgets and monitoring thereof, including capex
Collation, creating and review of CBU capex budget and monitoring thereof

Project Management

Drive month end procesess optimization, digitization, lean all key operational processes eliminating manual work while driving efficiency, automization and compliance.
Lead business to Finance operations transition of the month end simplified processes

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

B.Com (Accounting)/and or Honours
CA(SA) optional
5 to 10 years experience within Finance
3 to 5 years’ experience within the Finance Business Partnering space
ICT sector, specifically telecommunications background an advantage
