Pre-Sales Engineer HR & Payrol at Sage

Job Description    

• The role is intended developing technical solutions to business problems in the HR & Payroll sector. The role’s primary objective is in helping both current and prospective customers conceptualise solutions to business challenges. The process entails analysing and recording challenges, conceptualizing solutions based on the Sage suite of solutions and presenting the proposed solutions back to customers and stakeholders. The role will include product demonstrations, as well as building “Proof of Concepts”. The role will entail travelling to customers throughout Africa and ME.
• For Recruiting: This role requires an individual that wants to be part of something new and likes a challenge, is flexible, tenacious, can work independently and as part of a team. Candidates should be comfortable in delivering solutions in front of a C-Suite audience. With a positive attitude to change, the post holder must be outcome driven and able to work under pressure, without relying overly on the status of their managers to get things done. Business writing skills is essential. Expert knowledge of the Sage 300 People product and HR in particular is essential.

Key Responsibilities      

• To attend meetings with potential Clients to determine technical and business requirements and ensuring that all necessary information is collated prior to producing a solution
•   Conceptualize and build solutions within Sage 300 People and supporting software to address customers’ requirements
•   Provide technical solutions in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes
•   Create and confidently deliver technical presentations internally and externally
•   Deliver training on solutions and provide product support to channel partners and internal stakeholders
•   Create internal design configuration documentation including technical explanations and PowerPoint presentations
•   Work with Product Marketing, Product Management and Product Engineering to provide feedback on issues with current product and provide input around new features
•   Builds productive relationships internally and externally, fostering teamwork by keeping colleagues updated on activities
•   Perform technical development for bespoke solutions as part of a design and development frame work
•   Able to understand business drivers and risks involved to the customer and to Sage
•   Sell technical solutions to the customer with professionalism and enthusiasm
•   Provide accurate and timely management information, to include - activity reports, bid reviews, project forecasts, KPI’s
•   Adhere to the Company’s Quality and Business Processes

Must have:

• Degree or diploma or equivalent qualification (Financial, business or IT related)
•   Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a customer facing sales, pre-sales or customer services role
•   Strong analytical skills
•   Strong presentation/demo skills
•   Experience managing multiple stakeholders and deadlines
•   Must know how to handle confidential information and be discreet
•   Strong verbal and written English communication skills
•   Excellent knowledge of Sage 300 People and HR in particular
•   Prepared to travel globally

Technical / professional qualifications:

•   Basic understanding of MS SQL
•   Expert Sage 300 People
