Operator Construction - South32, Wessels Mine at South32

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

• To safely inspect, wash and prepare faces for drilling.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have Grade 12 with Mathematics (External Candidates) / Grade 10 (Internal Candidates only) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Mining underground environment.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of the causes of Falls of Ground (FOG);
• Demonstrate knowledge of Symbolic signs;
• Demonstrate an understanding of risk assessment concepts and processes;
• Demonstrate an understanding of the identification of and dealing with rock strata conditions;
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of the concept of a Ground Control District;
• Demonstrate understanding of the importance of safe and correct barring.
