Operations Coordinator at Lactalis South Africa

Job Description    

• Monitor daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution at all 3 cross-docks
• Manage claims process to ensure all customer claims are settled within agreed timelines.
• Ensure high customer service level through coordination and collaboration with stakeholders
• Peak and holiday planning with cross-docks and stakeholders
• Responsible for the upkeep of all material handling equipment in the warehouse (Forklifts, Reach Trucks, etc.)
• Ensure all delivery vehicles are roadworthy   
• Ensure that all equipment breakdowns are attended to timeously
• Ensure all vehicles and MHE’s are serviced on the correct service intervals
• Manage fleet tyre storage and perform weekly stock takes with the vendor
• Plan vehicle maintenance in accordance with the distribution vision to have a 98% fleet availability 
• Ensure cost control is adhered to and monitored
• Get quotations from suppliers and follow up on open PO’s
• Monitor, analyze and investigate diesel consumption variances per vehicle and report poor driver behavior
• Manage the cleanliness of the fleet and wash bay operation
• Ensure pre and post inspections are conducted on the fleet and MHE’s daily and that faults are rectified immediately 
• Fleet administration, filing of job cards, licenses etc.
• Manage cross-dock distributor performance 
• Auditing of DC processes, safety, quality, WISE and documentation to ensure 100% compliance and timely submission where necessary
• Proactive and frequent communication to improve visibility of operations to stakeholders
• Travel where necessary to the distributors within the network to execute the responsibilities.

Required Skills    

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain discipline)
• 4-6 years’ relevant experience in various supply chain operations in either multi-national(s) or major South African organizations 
• Ability to work independently and in a team, tenacious and able to work under pressure.
• Good communication skills, assertive and strong reporting skills.
