Officer: Graduate Research Management (GRM) (post level 10/11) (contract appointment: 1 year) at University of the Free State

Duties and responsibilities:

•     Assist with progress reports administration on GRM – update manuals, train students and staff.
•     Maintenance of GRM.
•     Define, measure and analyse problems before implementing new control systems.
•     Train staff and students on GRM on existing and new functionality.
•     Assist with the development of training support material for different roles on GRM.
•     Assist with change management.
•     Assist with regular reports on GRM progress, risks and challenges.
•     Assist with induction of staff and students on GRM.
•     Assist with enquiries and troubleshooting with regard to GRM.

Inherent requirements:

•     A relevant Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma/B.Tech degree/Postgraduate Certificate on NQF level 7.
•     One (1) year relevant work experience related to postgraduate student administration.

Recommendations:

•     A relevant Honours degree on NQF level 8.
•     Understanding of higher education postgraduate administrative processes (enrolment, application, registration, ethical clearance application, thesis submission).
•     Knowledge of report writing.
•     Project Management experience.
•     Basic knowledge of People Soft functionalities to enable the flow of GRM.
•     Experience within the higher education environment.
•     Knowledge of university systems, policies, procedures.
