Job Description    

• We are actively seeking a dynamic and talented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our esteemed Milling division team based in Pretoria West. This internship opportunity is ideally suited for candidates who have successfully completed their national diploma in mechanical engineering at a technical college and are eager to gain practical industry experience. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real-world projects and advancing your development in the field.

Minimum Requirements    

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: 
• Successful completion of Mechanical engineering program at a University of Technology is a prerequisite

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Support Engineering Projects: Assist our team of experienced Engineers in designing, developing, and implementing Mechanical Engineering systems and components. Collaborate on various projects while gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting.
• Conduct Research and Analysis: Conduct research to enhance our understanding of Mechanical engineering principles, industry trends, and emerging technologies. Analyse data to identify patterns, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that can improve our operations and processes.
• Asist in Route cause and breakdown analysis investigation: Work alongside senior engineers to investigate equipment failure and suggest maintenance solutions while gaining hands on experience. 
• Assist in Documentation: Create accurate and detailed technical documentation, such as machinery design standard, and reports. Contribute to the development of project plans, ensuring effective communication of project progress and challenges.
• Collaborate in Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineers, Foreman, and Project managers, to ensure timely and successful completion of projects. Learn project management methodologies and contribute to project planning, execution, and monitoring. Assist with managing contractors and ensuring that all safety protocols are observed during the undertaking of project work.
• Stay Updated on Industry Standards: Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in Mechanical engineering. Continuously update your knowledge on technological advancements, regulations, and safety standards to enhance your professional growth. Assist in ensuring that processes and Machinery comply with industry standards and regulations (OSH Act of 1993).
• Engineering Stores Inventory Management: Assist the engineering stores with cataloguing and managing spares inventory. Provide insight into possible spares shortfalls and make recommendations in this regard.
