Market Conduct Officer at Santam Insurance

The Market Conduct Officer’s function forms part of the greater Market Conduct Team that is tasked to identify and mitigate TCF / Market Conduct risks for Santam Structured Insurance Limited [Non-Life] as well as Santam Structured Life Limited [Life]. Market regulation attempts to ensure consumers are charged fair and reasonable insurance prices. It also strives to ensure consumers have access to beneficial and compliant insurance products, and are protected against insurers that fail to operate in ways that are legal and fair to consumers.

What will make you successful in this role?

• The candidate will perform intermediary [claims] as well as general market conduct services under the supervision of the Line Manager.
• Correct decision making in terms of rejecting claims. Review and approve / overturn rejection requests submitted by SSI / SSL business partners + record keeping.
• Policy documentation reviews
• SSI / SSL Complaints management [OLTI / OSTI / FAIS Ombud including direct complaints received] + record keeping.
• Technical Underwriting and Claims support to business partners.

Qualification An Experience

• Grade 12
• RE5 accreditation is a requirement [Completed: RE 5 examination, Class of Business Training and professional qualification]
• Insurance / finance or law tertiary qualification will be an added advantage
• Minimum 7 years working experience in the Non-life or Life insurance industry is a requirement
• Sound understanding of TCF [Market Conduct Principles] as well as General Insurance, Claims and underwriting principles
