    Manager - Tax & Transfer Pricing.Bayobab

    Mission/ Core Purpose of the job

    • Reporting to the SM - Tax, the Manager - Tax & Transfer Pricing will be part of Bayobab’s tax team and will be responsible for the preparation, and maintenance of up-to-date tax and transfer pricing documents and policies for Bayobab Group. Key role will be to ensure that the pricing of the inter-company transactions between Bayobab and other MTN OPCOs are at arm’s length and aligned to the MTN Group Tax and Transfer Pricing policy.

    Key Performance Areas

    The Manager – Tax & Transfer Pricing will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Understand Bayobab transfer pricing policy; develop the process for implementation; and ensure its proper implementation.
    • Review and analyse all intergroup transactions between Bayobab and other MTN entities and report on gaps with policy.
    • Report on Bayobab transfer pricing compliance on a monthly basis.
    • Support pricing committee for Bayobab in reviewing the pricing of products to ensure the prices are aligned to the transfer pricing policy. The Manager will also review the price book to ensure its compliance with the transfer pricing policy.
    • Managing the preparation of TP documentation for all FibreCos.
    • Assist the FibreCos with review and filling of transfer pricing returns
    • Document and maintain up to date Bayobab benefit analysis for use in getting local regulatory approvals in liaison with the beneficiary FibreCos.
    • Liaise with FibreCos to address tax concerns regarding Bayobab Group services and payments.
    • Monitor and identify pro-actively potential transfer pricing issues and opportunities for Bayobab business.
    • Develop and implement processes for aggregating corporate direct and indirect costs that relate to support services provided to FibreCos, allocating corporate costs consistent with transfer pricing principles, communicating and confirming cost allocations to be reported in tax returns accurately across the Bayobab group.
    • Assist in developing the transfer pricing policy and documentation for the UAE based entities, in line with the new TP regime.
    • Keep management up to date with the latest Transfer Pricing developments including OECD BEPS and Global Minimum Tax 
    • Assist the head of Tax team on an adhoc basis on other international tax planning and compliance matters relating to the Bayobab group.
    • Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in tax processes

    Job Requirements

    Education:

    • 4-year Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics degree from a recognized university.
    • Qualified CA, ACCA (or similar qualification)
    • Any other professional qualification related to Tax
    • MBA/MSc. would be a plus

    Experience:

    • 5+ years of tax experience with Multi-National Corporations in a managerial position.
    • Must possess a thorough understanding of local and international tax and transfer pricing 
    • Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and interface with all relevant internal teams and external business partners as needed
    • Proven track record in exceptional financial performance
