    Manager: CSI

    Purpose Statement

    • Capitec’s Social Responsibility department is looking for a CSI manager who is driven by the purpose to positively contribute to the development of the communities we serve through CSI programmes that are designed for impact.   
    • Your focus will be the continuous development and implementation of an effective and impactful Capitec employee volunteer programme and the effective selection, implementation and funding of projects that benefit communities. The focus of the role excludes the Capitec Foundation.

    What you’ll do

    • You are responsible for the functional strategy, operating model, policies and budget of Capitec’s employee volunteer programme, donations and other CSI programmes that are delivered outside the Capitec Foundation.
    • You will manage the employee volunteer programme, manage policies and processes for the evaluation and selection of projects and manage the delivery of CSI programmes. You are responsible for establishing and embedding appropriate monitoring, reporting and evaluation structures and delivery. You will manage and take ownership of CSI awareness and recognition across the business to create a conducive environment where CSI initiatives and programmes are promoted and prioritised. This includes working closely with the Brand and Communications department to ensure visibility and awareness of CSI activities.
    • The role requires you to be an advocate of CSI to various audiences internally and externally and represent the function on industry level. You will engage with and advise senior stakeholders in the bank. You will manage a small team of CSI coordinators and will be required to build strong cross-functional relationships to promote the adoption of programmes nationally. You will furthermore be required to build and enhance relationships with implementation partners and NGO’s. 

    Experience

    Minimum:

    • At least 5 years’ experience in a relevant business or operations environment.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years in Communications or Stakeholder Management and CSI related areas, of which:
    • 2 or more years' experience in engaging with NGO's, government bodies and in identifying funding opportunities is essential.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in leading teams, projects or workflows.
    • 2 years’ experience in Project Management is essential.
    • Must have proven experience working in Community projects or Corporate Social Investment.
    • Experience in commercial, business and financial principles and practices.
    • Proven experience of using influence and relationships to drive and achieve objectives.

    Ideal:

    • Experience in successfully leading, planning and managing CSI initiatives across a large organisation.
    • Experience in Socio-economic development.

    Qualifications (Minimum)

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or Business Administration

    Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

    • A relevant post-graduate qualification in Business Management or Business Administration

    Knowledge

    Minimum:

    • Knowledge of and sensitivity to working with communities at a developmental level.
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of the role of business in CSI and its relevance to developing emerging economies.
    • Basic knowledge on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
    • Knowledge of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act and Codes.
    • Basic Understanding of non-governmental organisations (NGO’s), non-profit organisations (NPO’s) and public benefit organisations (PBO’s).
    • Other relevant legislation (for example, POPIA).

    Ideal:

    • Knowledge on the South African Education landscape.
    • Visualising data for key drivers of success in projects.
