    Lecturer (Biostatistics)

    Brief Description        
    Qualifications

    • At least a Master’s degree in biostatistics, statistics or quantitative epidemiology.

    Requirements

    • Evidence of teaching experience at postgraduate level
    • At least one article in peer-reviewed journals.
    • Student supervision at postgraduate level will be an added advantage.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team.
    • Interest in and commitment to building research capacity.

    Responsibilities

    • Teach biostatistics on the postgraduate (MSc, MPH, MMed, PhD) and short-course programmes within the Wits SPH
    • Teach on the Faculty of Health Sciences statistics short courses as part of the research support to Faculty staff and post-graduate students.
    • Provide statistical consultations to academic staff within the faculty.
    • Co-ordinate biostatistics modules within the MSc programme
    • Contribute to research supervision of postgraduate students within Wits SPH
    • Actively develop and expand research programmes within the School and Faculty
    • Actively participate in the academic endeavours of the school
