Junior Operations Analyst at Boxer Superstores

Job Purpose:  

• To support the Operations Team and wider business with Operations-related reporting and analysis in order to create visibility and insights into the Store Operations space, as well as to issue detailed information to aid in business decision-making and problem-solving.

Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience

• BCom Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 2- years’ experience within an operational/analytical/financial role
• Preferably within retail – however this is not mandatory

Skills:

• Analytical thinker
• Strong attention to detail and deadline driven
• Strong mathematical, accounting and Excel skills (V-lookups/basic to intermediate formulas/pivots)
• Professional written and spoken communication – correspondence and interactions will be with a senior management level
• Strong and clear presentation skills
• Ability to work under pressure with flexible working hours
• Ability to analyse information and provide assumptions/findings/recommendations which are substantiated from the data at hand
• Discreet when handling confidential information
• Strong independent worker and team player

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily/Weekly/Monthly Reporting across various P&L items and business areas including but not limited to:
  • Sales/Customer Counts/Basket Sizes
  • Damages and Wastage
  • Expenses
  • Profitability
  • Fastest and Slowest Sellers
  • Out of Stocks
• Like-for-like reporting
• New store performance tracking
• Monitoring of and reporting on loss making stores/areas within stores for the attention of and improvement by management
• Preparation of content and presentations for various meetings including monthly Divisional Management Meetings and Executive Meetings
• Building of dashboards and scorecards which include data from multiple sources
• Ad hoc reporting and Operations Project support
• Support in building the Operations strategy
