Junior Desktop Engineer - Sandton at Datacentrix

RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK OUTPUTS

• Deliver first and second line technical support on all workstations within area of service.
• Responsible for upgrading and maintaining end-user software versions and equipment.
• Preparation and installation of end user devices such as desktops, notebooks and headsets
• Onsite and remote end user support for all desktop devices for the staff
• Ability to be a primary resource for IT projects at the site
• First line support for telephony services and smartphones
• Co-ordinate, install, set up and complete departmental moves with regards to IT equipment.
• Effective and efficient handling of assigned incidents.
• Maintenance of all hardware on workstations.
• Logging of all incidents and requests on behalf of staff and management
• After hours support as per a roster determined by the team leader
• Identify financial and business risks to the company and escalate accordingly.
• Ensure end user satisfaction with excellent service with regards to assigned incidents.
• Professional and efficient communication to relevant stakeholders.
• A single point of contact for the staff for any IT related issues, escalations or IT related consulting
• Skilled in understanding applications within the environment
• Support effective teamwork

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Matric
• 1 to 2 year diploma / ‘NQF' Level 4
• Relevant IT Certification (A+/MCSE AD, Windows 7)
• Up to 3 years' experience in a similar role
• Other IT related modules could include ITIL exposure
