    IT Application Integration Developer Global Grade 12 Isando Head Office

    Core purpose of the role

    • The Applications Integration Development Specialist is responsible for the implementation of the integration solutions. The role is responsible for the planning, design and implementation of the integration of new applications into existing solutions throughout the organisation.

    Key deliverables and outputs

    • Serve as a technical integrations’ delivery lead ensuring integrations projects meet business requirements and goals.
    • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the existing integrations, including recommendations on integrations products and services.
    • Collaborate with business analysts, solution designers/architects and developers to understand technical and application integration requirements.
    • Document technical and integration requirements.
    • Configure integration middleware as required.
    • Assist and support the Quality Assurance team with integration testing.
    • Establish standardised processes and procedures for integration where feasible.
    • Define and implement requirements for continuous monitoring of integration services to ensure optimal performance.
    • Investigate and work with developers and other technical resources to assist with problem resolution.

    Essential:

    • Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent qualification
    • Relevant industry certification

    Advantageous:

    • Post graduate degree Work experience

    Essential:

    • 5 to 7 years hands-on development experience, with 3 years working with integrations
    • Experience in a variety of application development tools and programming languages
    • Broad experience designing, programming, and implementing integrations for large and complex systems

    Advantageous:

    • Experience in participating in DevSecOps squads

    Knowledge
    Essential: Skills
    Essential:

    • Sound knowledge of IT technologies and programming languages, preferably those in use by the organisation
    • Sound understanding of system functionality at enterprise sub-system level, databases and data relationships.
    • Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle, development practices and methodologies.
    • Good understanding of Agile and DevSecOps practices
    • In-depth knowledge of integration technologies including web services and message queuing (for example RESTFul web services, MQSeries etc.)
    • Sound understanding and experience in ESB and methodologies.
    • Understanding and knowledge of ITIL. Strong communication skills to elicit information and share specifications
    • Good interpersonal skills to build relationships

    • Well-developed critical and conceptual thinking and problem solving skills to perform in-depth analysis of software requirements and develop new software
    • Strong computer, technology and systems skills
    • Ability to provide in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issues
