    Digital Assessor- Non Motor - Johannesburg

    Job Description

    • Old Mutual insure is looking for a digital assessor in the non motor space. The role would be responsible to provide a non motor assessment function, focusing on non motor claims, The purpose of this position is to determine the quantum and merit of segmented non motor  claims by performing investigations, verifying the description of the event with the loss, negotiating with (client, intermediary, service providers) and settlement of claims within a delegated threshold and according to contract conditions.

    You Would

    • Execute on the full role of Digital Assessor to ensure contribution to the achievement of the business strategy and ease of doing business.
    • Answer telephone and digital queries from brokers, based on updated logs.
    • Analyse claims and confirm coverage in the non-motor sector.
    • Draft correspondence, including rejection letters if necessary.
    • Request and analyze digital policy files and related documentation.
    • Appoint specialist resources as required for in-depth assessments (e.g., builder, engineer).
    • Compare information collected to policy requirements and claim details.
    • Decide and negotiate on replacement, cash settlements, or claims card issuance.
    • Authorize repairs or cash settlements based on assessment outcomes.
    • Handle and resolve client and broker complaints in a timely and fair manner.
    • Manage relationships with clients, brokers, service providers, and internal stakeholders, including relationship managers.
    • Ensure effective and continuous communication with all stakeholders.
    • Conduct action quantum and merit investigations.
    • Perform assessments to establish claim validity and claims adjustment functions to manage costs and ensure correct settlements.

    • Experience in digital assessments of non-motor claims.
    • Insurance and/or building related certifications/qualifications.
    • Tertiary Degree/Diploma

    Job Description Summary

    • This role determines and documents business requirements. Works with design & implementation staff to assist with the design and implementation of solutions within constraints.  The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.

    Key responsibilities will include amongst others:

    • Create process documentation/workflows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
    • Gather and process data through interviewing of stakeholders and observations.
    • Collect and document business requirements for process improvement and automation efforts.

    Portfolio Design Lead: Financial Wellness

    Job Description

    • An opportunity has arisen for a Design Lead to manage the financial wellness design portfolio, across various financial wellness implementation streams, including Smart Goals and Rewards. This role reports into the Head of Design for Old Mutual in GRiD, and works closely with the Business Owner of financial wellness, the Product Owners and multi-disciplinary design and development teams within the portfolio, and interfaces with a broad range of senior stakeholders across the organisation.
    • The incumbent is responsible for leading the design outcomes of the portfolio, from the design strategy for financial wellness, through the design-led exploration of digital propositions, through the implementation of solutions and to the realisation of value post-launch and the continuous improvement of solutions.

    Job Description Summary

    • Lead various design disciplines and teams that work on digital financial wellness solutions. This includes the management of design delivery at a portfolio level across streams, support of user research, interaction design, prototyping, user testing and experience measurement activities in their various guises as well as the management of experience design standards, methods and frameworks.
    • Lead efforts that enable visually aligned and aesthetically elevated, human-centered designs for the business portfolio. The incumbent will have a customer first, human-centered mentality as well as be grounded in design & systems thinking as a way to transform our business.
    • A deep understanding of customer research, knowledge gathering, experience measurement, ideation, concept visualization and prototyping, interaction design, design evaluation and validation is required. The incumbent also needs to understands the creative direction and holds the alignment of visual and interaction language with other Digital platforms.

    Key Result Areas:

    • Ensure that the financial wellness portfolio business direction is Experience led through ecosystem data & insights, and applying the design thinking method to support strategic clarification and focused investment decisions.
    • Lead the multi-disciplinary product design teams and capabilities to efficient and well managed execution reducing the cycle time of product design and development. This includes the management of the methodological application of design to the product life-cycle and the strengthening of design team through coaching and delivery management.
    • Ensure the quality of design through continuous experimentation and desirability, viability and feasibility testing, designing products that can be delivered to market in a way that realises business cases and reduces the time for break-even and product-market fit.
    • The successful integration of financial wellness design into the broader OM Group environment,  ensuring integrated customer experience, digital product adoption, digital Sales, and experience outcomes.
    • Improve the financial wellness of OM customers through designing solutions that change the behaviours that underpin financial wellness and providing engaging, delightful solutions that positively impact customer’s lives.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, or Industrial Design preferred or in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
    • 6 to 8 years of professional experience design, with deep knowledge and skills in generating digital experience outcomes.
    • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in people and team management.
    • Consulting experience advantageous
    • Experience in Financial Services Industry
    • Experience in rewards programmes or behavioural change programmes advantageous
