Head - Strategy, Analytics & Reporting at Nedbank

Job Purpose

• To ensure that business realises strategic value through standardisation and alignment of reporting on performance, developing business insights, identifying, and tracking opportunities. Help ensure deliver of strategic benefits across business units. Provide a consolidated function for providing reporting within business and through to cluster and group processes. Provide support for driving and consolidating strategy processes and output. Identify opportunities for improvement. Support business in managing financial cost analysis.

Job Responsibilities

• To develop operational insights on behalf of business sub-pillars
• Work with sub-pillars (payments, client delivery and digital. channel) to define KPIs
• Takes accountability of building dashboards and sourcing data to facilitate ongoing reporting of KPIs across three sub-pillars
• Develop and run a continuous business unit strategy process; ensure quality outputs ready for annual and ad hoc processes
• Provide consolidation of reporting needs for group and strategy reporting, including Opcom, ERCO, QBR, and other regular submissions
• Define, track and assist with transformation initiatives across the business unit, ensuring alignment with and progress of overarching strategy
• Build a high-performance team through managing resources, retention and critical staff.
• Actively build a culture of improvement.
• Ensure the achievement of targets by monitoring implemented Divisional EE and Transformation Plan, analysing and correcting any deviations.
• Pitch potential analytics ideas, enabling the development of analytics dashboards to monitor portfolios.
• Develop, engage and execute strategy and business achievement, including cost management to ensure team profitability in line with agreed budget.
• Monitor market trends.
• Consolidate, analyse, interpret and provide high quality internal and market intelligence and analysis to Nedbank Capital Management. Scope, manage and deliver on miscellaneous research projects that are material to the strategic direction of Nedbank Capital.
• Meet business objectives. Manage the strategic research portfolio to ensure project delivery within an agreed timetable given resources.
• Coordinate strategic initiatives and collaboration through joint planning and review sessions.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree

Preferred Qualification

• Relevant Masters Qualification

Minimum Experience Level

• 11 years + working experience and relevant industry
• 5 years in Banking or Financial Services Industry
