    Head of Paid Media - Africa and Europe

    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum of 8+ years’ experience within the digital industry
    • Proven managerial skills on all levels
    • Strong skill set in navigating teams & where expertise is needed. Identifying issues before they arise and addressing them accordingly
    • Able to operate within grey areas and without clear direction, advising what is required
    • Full Google Marketing Platform Stack Certification and advanced working knowledge of all platforms
    • Advanced working knowledge of all paid social platforms i.e. Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Paid Media Manager in at least one channel
    • Experience with website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics)
    • GTM knowledge
    • Knowledge of Facebook Marketing Partners (e.g. Smartly and ROI Hunter) advantageous
    • Well-versed in performance marketing, yielding results for client's investments
    • Experience as a paid strategist beneficial, planning and executing on cross-channel marketing strategies.
    • Desired experience with measurement plans & tracking
    • Illustrate strong relationships with partners; Google, Bing, Facebook, etc.
    • Experience in managing high pressure situations & tight deadlines
    • Experience in working within a fast pace global operational team

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Operational Management

    • Ensure team achieves KPIs towards clients but also internal KPIs
    • Ensure team motivation & retention
    • Enforce SLA / workflows & playbooks
    • Identify efficiencies, documenting them, and adding them into workflows
    • Perform regular checks on quality, completeness and performance of campaigns
    • and suggest corrective measures where needed
    • Evaluate the capacity of team members and lead them to prioritise workload
    • Chair weekly team meetings and share all relevant information on clients and company updates
    • Grow team members' knowledge
    • Stay close to market targets & forecasts to plan the team accordingly
    • Support General Manager SA and MDs with roadmaps and to follow through on roadmap targets with the team
    • Be able to lead Media Managers in the right direction
    • Keep a close eye on cooperation with other teams, identify roadblocks and resolve
    • Keep Management up to date on region profitability, campaign performance, market trends, Media Manager performance, co-operation status, escalations etc.
    • Ensure that all administration is kept up to date
    • Resource management & Succession Planning
    • Assist General Manager SA with the hiring of new team members and succession planning for own team in terms of levels & backups
    • Keeps track of team knowledge levels (particularly via the internal Skills Matrix system) and ensure that the team is always kept up to date with new product developments and trends
    • Guides team members in order to stimulate the individual productivity and development of team members
    • Prepares and conduct bi-annual appraisals in order to evaluate the performance and KPIs of team members
    • Conducts regular one-on-ones with direct reports to check in on KPI progress,workload etc.
    • Assisting both ops and commercial team with interviews and new hires
    • Ensure that all administration is kept up to date

    Consultancy

    • Ability to work with international commercial team members (MD’s, in-market consultants, AM’s, specialist layer and Media Managers) and understanding what is required - from commercial models to campaign goals, ROI & strategic needs
    • Working closely with Commercial / Consultants / specialist layer on incoming deals / proposals / RFPs
    • Support campaign strategies with sufficient research and management tactics to maximize performance and revenue

    TASKS

    • Work with regional commercial teams, understand what is required per client: goals, ROI, strategic objectives
    • Work closely with individual team members to establish strong strategies across each client / platform
    • Keep up to date with regional market related trends, products and innovation
    • Implement strategies based on trends, products and client objectives
    • Manage team of Paid Media Team Leads and Media Managers - develop, upskill, support and coach
    • Involved in team development and succession planning
    • Responsible for market performance: achieving GP targets and retaining clients
    • Monitor risk clients: top tier and underperforming clients as a priority
    • Is point of escalation for MD & General Manager SA and advises on points of improvement towards to boost customer satisfaction and performance
    • Ensure best practice techniques are implemented at all times
    • Building the bridge between channels to ensure there is a 360 holistic view on clients
    • Accurate & timely daily / monthly reporting from Media Managers ie. Pacing Sheet, Client reports, Looker
    • Ensure weekly, accurate Harvest time capture from all team members
    • Joining internal and client meetings, where needed
    • Suggesting optimisations in internal meetings
    • Work closely with the Finance department assisting with, but not limited to, invoicing, billing and credit facility queries
    • Reporting market monthly figures back to Management
