    Head of Accounting

    MAIN PURPOSE

    • The Head of Accounting reports directly to the Head of Finance and is responsible for the full accounting and financial reporting function, as well as management of the accounting team.
    • Finance team size: 6 team members, with 3 reporting directly to the head of accounting.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    (But not limited to)

    • Reporting directly to the Head of Finance
    • Monthly preparation & submission of financial reporting pack to the Group Accounting team in Switzerland
    • Accuracy and correctness of income statement and balance sheet, + review of all supporting recons and controls
    • Day to day management of finance staff and review of their work (3 direct reports)
    • Training/Mentoring finance staff
    • Monthly presentations to regional accounting management (MEIA region)
    • Being a key point of contact & business partner to the Brands and other Richemont departments
    • Review and sign-off of all creditor recons and payments, ensuring business compliance with procurement policy
    • Monthly inventory review, reconciliation and controls monitoring
    • Monitoring of internal controls & compliance
    • Calculation of income tax; ensuring income tax submissions/provisional tax are done correctly and on time
    • Calculation of VAT and VAT submission
    • Overseeing stock counts and training other finance and logistics staff on the process
    • Managing the external audit process and been accountable for any audit issues identified
    • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements
    • Assisting HOF with budget preparation
    • Project management and implementation of system and process improvements
    • Developing and maintaining external relationships with appropriate contacts e.g., auditors, bankers, business support partners and SARS
    • Producing ad hoc accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
    • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
    • Corporate & social responsibility reporting

    DIMENSION:

    • Geographical area under responsibility: South Africa
    • Company Scope: 10 Brands, 3 Retail boutiques, and Richemont Departments

    ACADEMIC BACKGROUND & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • CA (SA) qualification
    • At least 1 year post articles experience
    • Expertise in IFRS & GAAP
    • FMCG experience advantageous
    • MS Packages – Advanced proficiency (including Excel)
    • SAP Experience advantageous"
