    Group Head: Ad Sales

    Description

    • The incumbent is responsible for driving, implementing and monitoring the strategic priorities of the sales function by managing the complete sales process ensuring achievement of targets, operational excellence and profitability together with the sales management team.

    Interpersonal and team relationships

    • Building, supporting and maintaining interpersonal and team relationships to ensure a conducive working environment that drives the achievement of team objectives.

    Budget Compliance

    • Ensuring operational excellence in operations by closely monitoring budgets and targets. 

    Human Resources Management

    • Mentor, coach and guide the Sales Team, specifically the Sales Managers into developing and growing capabilities and skills. 
    • Ensure that employees are adequately trained on the latest versions of the software packages and technological advancements.
    • Ensure that employees are adequately trained and/or are aware of new and existing standards and/or policies, trends, and establishing best practice that sets the Sales Team apart from the Industry.
    • Ensure that all working practices, policies and processes are regularly assessed and adapted to create an accountable, performance driven culture with clear lines of accountability. 

    Sales Management and Results

    Ensure that the strategic priorities/key targets are implemented and closely monitored by:

    • Faciliating target setting across the Group/Nationally;
    • Managing the sales targets and the end to end process of achieving these targets;
    • Reviewing and compiling regular sales reports and where necessary, brainstorm contingency plans that can deliver immediate and definable results on the gaps in target/s;
    • Faciliting and driving all negotiation strategies together with the Group Executive: Advertising Sales;
    • Reviewing and updating sales targets, forecasts and projected advertising revenue as and when the business/market changes and highlighting critical focus areas/discrepancies;
    • Co-ordinating ongoing Sales Team Meetings with Sales Managers and Account Executives or any other relevant Teams to manage the key deliverables in CTS; and
    • Managing the Sales Team together with the Sales Managers as direct reportees, including but not limited Sales Managers, Market Intelligence, Trade Marketing, Planning and a dotted line responsibility for Support Managers.

    Stakeholder Liaison

    • Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with agencies and clients and/or all relevant stakeholders.
    • Ensuring that the team has a through understanding and/or knowledge of the clients and their portfolios including their brands and target audience in order to maximise sales revenue.
    • Ensuring that contract negotiations are finalised in line with established standards, and that best practice with key deliverables are clearly defined.

     

    Requirements
    Qualifications

    • National Senior Certificate - Essential
    • National Diploma in Sales and/or Marketing

    Experience

    • 10 years in Sales (Operational) - Essential
    • 5 years in Sales Management (Management) - Essential
