    General Manager: Chenosis (Managing Director)

    The role is responsible to lead Chenosis as a Technology start up within MTN, by developing the strategy for new products/features and organisations, driving transformational change, establishing the business model and technology frameworks to build a sustainable, scalable business. The role will lead the design and build of API products and Integrations to facilitate business outcomes, by effectively managing financial, operational and strategic objectives. 

    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)

    The General Manager: Chenosis will be accountable for the following key deliverables::

    • Guide the development, implementation and maintenance of a strategy and framework for Chenosis.
    • Drive sustainable growth and commercial performance through clear strategic focus
    • Define the Chenosis organisation vision, mission, short term and long-term goals and ensure the business is led and managed to meet these goals.
    • Create, manage, and execute the business plan and sustainability measures for the startup
    • Build and lead the leadership team to develop a high-performance culture that sustains effective business delivery.
    • Own and lead transformation activities to define new business process for sales and service delivery and systems deployment to support new working practice
    • Represent the company to the Board of Directors and keep board members and Investors updated and informed
    • Identify, establish, and develop strategic alliances and manage a pipeline of prospective strategic partnerships
    • Provide strategic input in the development and execution of the go-to-market strategy for the product
    • Collaborate closely with the Group CTIO, Principle Consultant: API Management and Digital platforms and services teams at to refine the start-up’s strategic direction(s)
    • Identify new and innovative business opportunities. Constantly scout and evaluate the market for feasible growth, adoption, or expansion opportunities
    • Represent Chenosis within the Technology ecosystem and news media
    • Accountable for risk management across the business.
    • Manage contract negotiations working with the startup's legal counsel, as necessary
    • Responsible for regulatory, legal and tax compliance
    • Continuous Improvement & evolution of Chenosis Platform and Value proposition with the ability to make strategic pivots when necessary
    • Continuous improvement of the Chenosis partner and market interaction model
    • Drive customer focus product development strategy and differentiate through locally relevant and value adding services and customer centred experience
    • Guide leveraging of technologies to enhance commercial offerings and customer experience
    • Provide stakeholders and investors with Chenosis performance reporting and insights.
    • Provide guidance and direction on the financial performance and growth targets for Chenosis.
    • Ensure integration of Chenosis platform and products with the relevant partners;
    • Oversee the critical evaluation of product performance and design enhancements to improve usage and performance.
    • Manage third-party dependencies and secure necessary engagement / resource alignment for the creation of co-developed product features

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

    Education:

    • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree with Honours (B Eng / BSc Degree Preferred)
    • MBA / Masters advantageous
    • English, French and Arabic (as advantage)
    • Relevant certification/accreditation/membership with professional body as required for the role

    Experience:

    • Minimum 8-10 years of Senior Management Experience
    • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in a global / multinational business environment (understanding of emerging markets advantageous)
    • Minimum 5 years relevant sector/industry/area of specialisation
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in leading transformational change and growth within an enterprise and/or a startup organization
    • Work across diverse cultures and geographies
    • Experience in leading change / transformation at a strategic and operational level advantageous
