    Financial Reporting Lead

    Key purpose:

    The key purpose as the Financial Reporting Lead is to oversee the processing of information to ensure that the BSC operational excellence and customer service objectives are achieved; to ensure accurate reporting and appropriate governance of all elements contained in the balance sheet. This position reviews daily activities related to the balance sheet transactional processes ensuring accuracy and validity and reporting.

    Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Managing the health of all balance sheet accounts in terms of risk, ageing, validity of transactions within the account, debit transactions in credit accounts including bank accounts
    • Management of CAPEX process, asset disposal, transfer, scrapping of assets and ensure compliance with the company policy
    • Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles internally in line with global policies and externally with regards to financial reporting standards
    • Drive the reduction of reconciling items, present and implement corrective action and preventative action for recurring process related issues.
    • Engagement with all functions within the business to provide detailed review of the balance sheet process and preparation of commentary for month end reporting to stakeholders in line with their expectations
    • Review of Balance sheet account risk analysis quarterly and quality reconciliations for completeness and integrity.
    • Provide visibility of balance sheet and journal risk items to senior management
    • Ensures sustainability of the balance sheet hygiene and RTP process
    • Overall release of balance sheet journal entries (accruals, intercompany recharges invoices, FI payments
    • Drive the reduction of MJE and maintain Jean tool sustainability
    • Ensuring adherence and proper documentation to satisfy audit and statutory requirements including MICS and SOX Controls and SLAs
    • Adhere to internal control protocols and provide information as required to internal and external audit
    • Prepare, maintain and archive documentation to satisfy audit and statutory requirements
    • Providing ongoing financial accounting technical & business support to the zone for all underlying accounting process
    • Assist team with weekly and monthly targets and all relevant SLAs and KPIs.
    • Assist team in identifying process improvements, excellence and process automation and efficiency opportunities to improve the way we operate and work closely with technology to leverage system
    • Co-ordination and planning of hard close and year end activities for the business
    • Perform Ad hoc requests and projects

    Minimum Requirement:

    • Degree in accounting or related field, post-graduate qualification will be an advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years in FMCG environment and managing financial performance and working capital.
    • Competency in Computer skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI), with particularly strong Excel skills
    • Knowledge of SAP, Syspro, FCCS (Financial Close and Consolidation System, COGNOS system)
    • Able to work on own initiative and prioritize workload effectively.
    • Ability to build productive working relationships – internally and externally.
    • Excellent stakeholder management.
    • Strong interpersonal / business skills and time management skills.
    • Excellent analytical and good problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to ensure that the team works efficiently, is customer centric and delivers on business expectations
    • Ability to uphold confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, records or processes associated with services provided
    • Ability to be flexible with duties and scope of work and meeting deadlines
    • Able to work on own initiative and prioritize workload effectively with effective planning and organizing.

    • Understanding of the Agile Methodology and WOW

    • Continuous improvement review and implementation for all processes housed in working capital.
