Job Description

The Financial Accounting Manager will assess the impact on financial reporting due to changes in International Financial Reporting Standards, legislation of various Acts governing Anglo Platinum as well as the accounting impact of various agreements entered by Anglo Platinum.

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Interpretation, analysis and preparation of complex accounting valuations as well as providing the accounting entries for complex transactions and understand organizational structure and how it impacts on technical accounting aspects
• Providing accounting assistance on complex accounting transactions including corporate finance activity
• Dealing with queries from Audit Committee, JSE, external and internal auditors as well as coordinating the annual and interim external reporting process.

This role is at our Johannesburg Corporate Office, at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Finance Consolidation.

Qualifications

• Financial/ Business related Degree
• Chartered Accountant (SA)
• MBA and/or similar financial training program (advantageous)

Experience:

• At least 4 years post articles experience within the mining industry
• Excellent management experience
• Extensive tax and technical experience
• Knowledge of mining and process flows within a mining business
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
• Working knowledge of the Financial accounting systems and f financial modelling
• Understanding of industry revenue and cost drivers
