    EHS & Facilities Manager

    Position Overview:

    • This position's primary goal is to ensure that the group (All Ascendis Health Group Portfolio Companies) meets its promises to conduct its business in a responsible and safe manner and to actively manage its commitment to environmental stewardship.
    • Drives the group's compliance and accreditation in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards (Across all medical Devices Companies in the Group Portfolio).
    • Drive environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives.
    • Ensure that the group is fully compliant with prevailing environmental, health and safety legislation.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

    • Drives the group's compliance and accreditation in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
    • Drive environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives.
    • Ensure that the group is fully compliant with prevailing environmental, health and safety legislation.
    • Maintain the group's EHS framework.
    • Drive and achieve ISO accreditation across all business units.
    • Audit EHS structures and their compliance within each business unit across the Ascendis Health Group.
    • Management of safety compliance, accident mitigation and emergency preparedness.
    • Management of fire compliance and fire mitigation.
    • Management of sustainability programs specific to each business unit’s needs.
    • EHS Stakeholder management.
    • EHS Supplier co-ordination and management.
    • EHS grievance and communication management.
    • Update on EHS Management and progress on a Monthly basis.
    • Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
    • Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
    • Detailed EHS Budget per site and Business Unit across Ascendis.
    • Develop Policies and Procedures in line with the EHS Strategy and Framework.
    • Plan and co-ordinate with Learning and Development Department to ensure all Business units complete mandatory training as set out in the legislation.
    • Manage general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
    • Prioritize and reduce risk.
    • Maintain relevant EHS legally required inspections and documentation.
    • Assist in the compliance and communication of applicable laws and regulations to relevant employees and managers.
    • Development and presentation of relevant EHS internal training.
    • Observe EHS regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or report them to the proper personnel.
    • Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.
    • Perform other work-related tasks as required as assigned.
    • Adhere to all the rules and regulations.
    • Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety.
    • Enforce preventative measures.
    • Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations.
    • Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
    • Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety.

    Facilities Management:

    • Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures.
    • Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements.
    • Run routine maintenance inspections.
    • Organize and plan building installations and refurbishments.
    • Supervise facilities staff and communicate with external contractors and vendors.
    • Handle insurance inspections.
    • Maintain Safety Files and agreements.
    • Keep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol.
    • Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation.
    • Prepare and implement project budgets and timeframes.
    • Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
    • Support maintenance and installation work as needed.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Minimum required education and experience:

      • Relevant National Diploma/ Nebosh/ Samtrac
      • Relevant Qualification in Facilities Management
      • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in EHS & Facilities
    • Preferred education and experience:

      • Advanced Business Risk
      • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
      • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
      • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
      • Intermediate Knowledge of Smartsheet System
      • Computer Literate
