Dental Chair Side Assistant - East Rand, Gauteng at Stethoscope SA

Main responsibilities:

• Chair Side Assistance: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist the dentist during dental procedures. Provide instruments and materials as needed. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Patient Care: Assist in educating patients on proper dental care and post-treatment instructions. Address patient concerns and inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
• Infection Control: Follow strict infection control protocols to maintain a clean and sterile treatment environment. Adhere to proper procedures for instrument sterilization and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain dental supplies, equipment, and materials. Restock items as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and filing. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Dental Chair Side Assistant is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of dental procedures and instruments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Positive attitude with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
• Registered with the HPCSA.
• Relevant qualification as a Dental Assistant.
• Experience in dental implantology advantageous.
