    Customer Tax Specialist

    Job Description

    • Assist Old Mutual Personal Finance to meet and maintain its customer tax obligations. The successful incumbent will be be the Personal Finance customer tax process champion. This role facilitates customer tax changes, SARS employee and 3rd party reporting and customer tax issue resolutions.
    • The successful incumbent for this role must be proficient in execution, collaboration; delivery focused, customer oriented and a team player

    Key focus of the role and responsibilities:

    • Expected to be a customer and tax process champion for Personal Finance.
    • Facilitate impact assessments across the customer value chain and ensure process changes deliver a compliant outcome.  
    • Facilitate customer tax changes and ensure the change is sustained, and timeously applied.
    • Ensure that implementation of Customer Tax changes does not lead to blockages/ obstacles in the business and appropriate risk/compliance trade-offs are considered.
    • Assist with customer tax related queries and escalations.
    • Assist with monitoring and review of customer tax obligations and adherence to tax legislation.
    • Facilitate remediation of customer tax gaps.
    • Oversee Customer tax communications to advisers and customers; ensure that it is both simplified, accurate and appropriate.
    • Support the drafting and monitoring of Service Level Agreements between Personal Finance and Delivery Partners, with regards to Customer Tax.
    • Assist with resolving findings from Auditors and the Regulator.
    • Ensure that the responsible Personal Finance Delivery Partners have the necessary evidence in place for the purpose of monitoring and reporting

    Qualification, Skills, Experience & Requirements

    • Relevant tertiary qualification
    • The role is strictly Cape Town based; the successful incumbent must be willing and able to relocate if applicable
    • At least 5 years’ working experience in the financial services Industry, dealing with Tax
    • Understanding of South African Tax legislation  
    • Experienced in regulatory/tax changes implementation
    • Operations and process management experience would be advantageous
