    Coordinator, SCM and Finance

    Job Advert Summary    
    PURPOSE: 

    • To analyse and compile management reporting documents and to maintain all relevant general accounting policies and procedures and ensure that the Supply Chain Management (SCM) service delivered to the Business Unit (BU) and end users meet the required service levels and satisfy customers 
    • Ensure effective and good supplier relationships 
    • Ensure SCM is cost effective and value adding 
    • Effective management of incidents, problems and change processes.

    MAJOR CHALLENGES:

    • Manage internal and external relationships
    • Manage adherence to stipulated governance and policy
    • Meet diverse service delivery needs for diverse stakeholders.

    Minimum Requirements    
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    •  BCom (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum or)
    •  B Degree Supply Management (Essential/Minimum)
    •  Certificate First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • 5 years Relevant experience within Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Finance with extensive understanding of SAP MM and FI modules (Essential/Minimum) Operational

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Business Performance and Operations    

    • Ensure accurate transactional finance service delivery in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) compliance standards
    • Reconcile transactions across the cost and financial management systems to ensure alignment
    • Do monthly general ledger reconciliations
    • Assist with the delivery of financial reports, statements and consolidated budget/forecasts and strategic plans for the Business Unit (BU)
    • Analyse and identify variances from budget
    • Implement and monitor preventative audit and risk management processes
    • Maintain fixed asset register
    • Implement and maintain effective internal control
    • Ensure integrity of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) required information on SAP system
    • Monitoring of the reclamation and disposal processes
    • Engage while providing commercial and financial input to relevant stakeholders involved with strategic sourcing and contract management functions
    • Execute BU fit for purpose procurement strategy and plan
    • Ensure Procure to Pay queries are resolved in a timely manner
    • Coordinate month end closure transactions within Supply Chain Management (SCM) and financial accounting functions
    • Provide guidance to End-Users for defining contract scope terms and conditions

    Commercial, Logistics and Supplier Control    

    • Provide commercial and financial inputs when evaluating potential contractors and suppliers
    • Ensure compliance with preferential procurement targets and sustainable supplier performance
    • Identify and eliminate procurement risks
    • Manage procurement practices within agreed standards and guidelines: reconditioning, direct purchasing of goods and services, low value capital procurement, importation of goods/services

    Compliance, Governance and Assurance    

    • Ensure all financial accounting and SCM services are safely delivered in accordance with policies, systems and procedures that are legally compliant and adhere to sound   corporate governance principles
    • Monitor all risks
    • Assist with internal and external audits
    • Ensure that relevant stakeholders comply with policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
    • Ensure that identified risks associated with SCM initiatives and actions are managed and mitigated
    • Ensure that the Company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) targets to the applicable areas are met

    Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management    

    • Monitor BU supplier performance against applicable contractual obligations, objectives and KPIs
    • Ensure timely renewal and conclusion of commercial and commodity contracts by tracking contracts, reporting and liaison with contract specialists and BU financial manager
    • Manage relations with internal clients, other Group functionaries and outside providers of goods and services, required for ensuring that business needs are met
    • Represent BU SCM at SCM forums, including presentation and reporting

    Functional Excellence    

    • Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end- to-end processes, tools, templates etc.
    • Assist in standardising, simplifying and speeding-up of functional processes and eliminate duplication/bureaucracy
    • Apply functional best practices and promote sharing of best practices/knowledge
    • Assist in the execution of functional excellence initiatives

    Material/Resource Planning and Control    

    • Timely identification, planning and management of stock levels and service requirements
    • Obtain technical input regarding stock items optimisation, identification and approval of critical, aged and slow-moving stock
    • Ensure timely delivery of material item codifications by Material Management (MM) Master Data
    • Ensure that sound internal controls are in place and adhered to, including: regular stock counts, documented risk mitigating control procedures and by supporting internal and external audit procedures

    People Management    

    • Foster an environment that focuses on process execution excellence, high performance and continuous improvement and individual contributions
    • Promote teamwork, provide support and manage performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans of subordinates
    • Manage sound relationships with cross-functional non-subordinated staff for critical input requirements.

    Safe and Healthy Work Environment    

    •  Maintain and ensure a healthy environment and safe operation practices. Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in   line with set standards
    •  Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations
