    Coordinator: Infrastructure & Engineering Projects x2


    Role Clarification & Key Performance Areas

    • The university seeks to employ a skilled, knowledgeable and resourceful individual to co-ordinate services on a diverse range of construction projects. The position will suit someone with strong planning and monitoring skills, who is energetic and pro-active, and who is committed to delivering on projects undertaken.

    The post reports to the Manager: Projects and the functions include:  

    • Serve as the primary project point of liaison for internal and external stakeholders
    • Oversee and co-ordinate the activities and services of external consultants and contractors
    • Assume responsibility for all project planning and administration
    • Monitor and track project progress against plan (Time, Cost, Scope and Quality) and implement corrections as necessary
    • Ensure regulatory compliance
    • Ensure an orderly and comprehensive project close out process
    • Monitor project quality and resolve non-conformance items
    • Monitor service deliverables and sign off on receipt
    • Manage building and campus access
    • Monitor and report on project risks
    • Plan, coordinate and integrate the activities of internal resources
    • Compile and distribute meeting minutes and regular project progress reports
    • Provide a document management service, including a technical library for each project
    • Arrange and administer all professional services (internal and external)
    • Draft communications and notices for publication

    Minimum Requirements

    • National Diploma in a Built Environment Discipline (BTech degree would be an advantage)
    • 3-5 years’ experience in the construction or building industry
    • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and construction software
    • Valid drivers’ license (with two years driving experience, accident free) 
    • Proven project co ordinator track record on small to medium scale projects
