    Consultant Pricing

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

    • The Consultant Pricing is part of the Pricing and Global Value Proposition team in the Consumer Business Division at MTN. The position is primarily responsible for assisting with implementation of Pricing Strategies, Business Case and Price models for the MTN Group operations.
    • The Consultant will report to the Senior Manager within the pricing team. The position will interface with Opco stakeholders (GMs, segment and pricing managers and CBU managers), to ensure effective and efficient operations

    The Consultant Pricing will be accountable for achieving the following objectives:

    • Provide input to the development of pricing strategic guidelines, modelling tools and processes with the objective to local decision-making process;
    • Prepare and Manage pricing model options and maintenance programs to optimise total cost of ownership (TCO) while providing future flexibility for MTN
    • Assist Senior Manager and OpCo’s in rationalizing price plans
    • Implementation of global roaming products
    • Roll out pricing training to OpCos
    • Preparation of material to get approval from Pricing Steering Committee

    Key Deliverables

    • Provide input to the development of pricing strategic guidelines, modelling tools and processes with the objective to local decision-making process;
    • Prepare and Manage pricing model options and maintenance programs to optimise total cost of ownership (TCO) while providing future flexibility for MTN
    • Prepare material and support Senior Management in delivering pricing training to the different operations on a regular base
    • Monitor and manage costs of network infrastructure
    • Assist Senior Management in identifying, analysing and exploring opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used network infrastructure to achieve full efficiency and ROI from MTN resources
    • Identify opportunities for volume purchasing to obtain price breaks
    • Monitor and analyse trends in MTN spending and inventory control in order to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings and/or asset optimization.
    • Assist in the enhancement and development of international calling and roaming products
    • Managing and reporting on the products during life cycle and making price plan rationalization recommendations
    • Assist Senior Management and OpCo’s in developing business cases, product specifications and business rules in line with Group strategy
    • Assist OpCo’s in identifying international calling and roaming arbitrage abuses, and recommending pro-active measures to curb them
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis across all OpCo’s
    • Report on performance of international calling and roaming products and recommend how MTN Group can rationalize and optimize international roaming portfolio across its footprint
    • Track movements in carrier costs and work with OPCO’s to ensure alignment of retail rates to wholesale market changes
    • Assist OpCo’s in creating segmented value propositions
    • Ensure teams collaborate with Quality Assurance and Internal Audit teams to perform periodic quality and process audits
    • Collaborate with other functional heads to enhance key elements of the consumer business model
    • Collaborate with Group and OpCo stakeholders to add and / or modify suite of services/support provided and develop standard templates and reports

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Degree/Marketing
    • Master’s degree (advantageous)

    Experience:

    • 5 years’ experience in pricing analysis, international calling & roaming value propositions
    • 3 years in relevant sector / industry / area of specialisation
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies (advantageous)
    • Experience working in a medium-to-large organisation

    • Fluent in English, additionally speaking French and/or Arabic is an advantage
