    Co-ordinator: Cluster Facilities


    Role Clarification & Key Performance Areas

    • Student development and Support is a division within the University positioned purposefully in creating an enabling environment and excellent opportunities for students to develop to their full potential as active scholars and responsive citizens for the African continent. 
    • Applications are invited from dynamic, vibrant individuals with proven experience in student housing facilities, people and administration management and a passion for co-curricular programmes.
    • Reporting to the Manager: Student Housing, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
    • Coordinating the services, service contracts and staff within the operational area (cluster) which includes stakeholders such as students, service providers both internal and external as well as people management at a cluster level. Accepting overall responsibility and accountability for all physical property, plant and equipment within the operational area (cluster). Provides written  monthly reports and or verbal reports as and when required by managers.

    Duties will include inter alia:

    • Effectively plan, co-ordinate, monitor and execute Student Housing operations processes within the annual operations cycle.
    • Monitoring of residence service contracts. (Access Control, Cleaning, Grounds & Gardens, Maintenance, Security, Transport, Common Areas).
    • Effectively collate data and other relevant information.
    • Effectively manage stakeholders at a cluster level.
    • Effectively supervise people at a cluster level
    • Effective control of assets, fixtures and fittings.
    • Reporting to the Manager on a monthly basis and as required.
    • Act as 1st respondent  after hours in the event of emergencies or incidences and ensure that protocols are observed and adhered.

    Minimum Requirements
    Minimum requirements:

    • A relevant Bachelors Degree (NQF 7) or National Diploma (NQF6)
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in student housing or general facilities supervision or student-related administration.
    • A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years' supervisory experience is essential as the incumbent will be responsible for 6-8 staff.
    • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s licence
    • Proven report writing ability
    • Working knowledge of asset management systems and the ability to manage inventory
    • The successful candidate will be required to live/stay on premises.
