Chief Finance and Value Officer, Standard Insurance Limited (Insurance Asset Management) at Standard Bank Group

JOB DESCRIPTION

• To be accountable for leading the Finance & Value Management function for Standard Insurance Limited within the IAM Business Unit, including the development and execution of the Finance & Value Management strategy and alignment to the provision. To provide oversight and sign off on financial statements, management accounting analytics and interpretation with synthesis into the Standard Insurance Limited business performance evaluation and the implementation and adoption of customer level pricing decisioning and other strategies. Accountable for the financial planning and forecasting cycle for the Standard Insurance Limited and to drive business decisions using insights from the financial results.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications
Type of Qualification: Post Graduate Degree
Field of Study: Actuarial or Finance and Accounting Preferred

Other Minimum Qualifications, Certifications or Professional Memberships: CA(SA) or Fellow of Actuarial Society of SA or equivalent qualification; Member of SAICA or ASSA or equivalent body Preferred
Experience Required

Preferred

• 3-4 years Experience in managing a finance function across multiple Geographies, across Africa continent is preferable. Articles or actuarial qualification preferable.

Required

• At least 10 years' experience in financial services. Previous experience in heading up a finance team and delivering key MIS to business line. Management Accounting reporting experience with understanding of finance and actuarial (where applicable) regulatory frameworks. Broad understanding of a business environment. Knowledge of financial and actuarial (where applicable) analysis techniques. Construct and interpret financial statements. Literacy in well-known finance applications.
