Candidate Engineer: Process Control Implementation at Mintek

Job description

•  Follows the leadership and guidance of other scientists/engineers in undertaking his/her assignments
•  Establish specifications, improve workflows, and introduce operating procedures – project level
•  Execute process control installations under supervision, both locally and internationally, in which interactions with clients and technical expertise are required at a professional level;
•  Provide clients with basic training;
•  Ensure that projects are executed on time and within budget;
•  Ensure that QES procedures are strictly adhered to and that project work is executed with maximum overall technical efficiency;
•  Actively participate in team debates and technical decisions;
•  Produce professional reports, papers and presentations at local and international conferences;
•  Keep up-to-date at a professional level with technology and business developments that are relevant to the division’s interests

Minimum requirements

• Candidate Implementation Engineer: BSc. or BEng. Chemical or Electrical
• Good grades (>70%) in Process Control and Process Modelling modules
• Must be willing to travel locally and internationally, and work with minimal supervision.
• The following skills/knowledge will be advantageous:
• Final year project in process control or process modelling
• Computer programming (e.g. Matlab, C , C# or Python)
