    Business Development Manager

    Job Description:

    Financial Management:

    • Manage the finances of your specific area of responsibility
    • Manage risk in own work/business environment
    • Authorise expenditure as per your LOA limit
    • Prepare and manage the sales forecast budget and manage against the budget & company margin requirements.
    • Protect company assets (working capital & fixed assets)
    • Ensure all trading rebate documents are up to date and accurate
    • Manager/ assist with accounts receivables/collections where applicable

    • Achieve the annual Sales Budget, personal, team and BU

    CUSTOMERS:

    Customer Relations:

    • Monitor customer satisfaction & review ways of working /SOP’s
    • Develop and manage customer relationships to meet business objectives through the line
    • Liaise with a range of customers across all business channels to build & foster stronger business ties.

    Supplier Relations:

    • Liaise with a range of suppliers

    PROCESS:

    Market Research:

    • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for business expansion, across all channels but focused on B2B.

    Lead Generation:

    • Develop and execute strategies to generate leads and build a robust pipeline of potential clients or customers.

    Client Acquisitions:

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their needs and propose tailored solutions.

    Sales Strategy:

    • Collaborate with the sales team to create effective sales strategies. Set clear objectives and develop action plans to achieve sales targets.

    Proposal Development:

    • Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients, showcasing the value proposition of the company's products or services

    Negotiation & Closing :

    • Lead negotiations and work towards closing deals. Ensure terms are mutually beneficial for both the client and the company.

    Networking:

    • Build and maintain a strong professional network. Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to establish connections and stay updated on industry trends

    Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product development, customer support to ensure a coordinated approach to business development

    Budget Management :

    • Develop and manage budgets for business development activities. Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effectiveness.

    Performance analysis:

    • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business development initiatives.
    • Analyse data to refine strategies and improve performance.

    Administrative:

    •  Ensure all documents are correctly filled in, banking documents are all correct and the on-boarding process is complete.

    Sales & Marketing Strategy:

    • Develop the Sales & Marketing strategy and align to the business strategy
    • Develop and manage customer strategies to meet business objectives
    • Assess gaps, competitor activities and opportunities in the market
    • Measure all aspects of the strategy implementation & required changes if necessary
    • New business development ongoing and measured via score card
    • Sign, Monitor and measure B2B customers and reporting
    • Assist KAM in daily customer related administration tasks to ensure achievement of volumes

    Sales Planning:

    • Formulate and design customer service delivery systems and processes
    • Develop the best route to market and the channel plan for all customer segments in order to achieve the targeted service levels
    • Develop and implement customer activity plans to reach agreed sales targets and monitor and review customer activity plans
    • Plan new customer lead collage (monthly sales plan)
    • Gather and provide relevant information to contribute to Sales and Marketing activities
    • Analyse data and update sales activities and action plans

    Admin & Planning:

    • Ensure all relevant new customer take on documentation and relevant paperwork is correct and accurate.
    • Ensure that all customer deal sheets are correct and aligned to company SOP’s and guidelines on a monthly basis.

    Sales Forecasting:

    • Provide and consolidate Sales Forecasts and forward to Planning
    • Allocate appropriate stock covers by region (and by customer)

    Sales Management:

    • Liaise with the Customer Service Department for orders and deliveries
    • Manage all operational activities within the channel (promotions, price increases, deals, listings, merchandising, etc.)
    • Implement sales activity plans within the channel (promotions, price increases, deals, listings, merchandising, etc.) to meet agreed deadlines
    • Actively pursue new B2B and BD business opportunities aligned to KAM/Business Objective
    • Present the range of products and services to customers and to then close out deals with customers (new/current customers)
    • Check that the product range is represented in the market
    • Investigate product related complaints
    • Manage B2B reporting and feedback to customers
    • Manage, monitor and measure onboarding of new customers until completion.

    Brand Development:

    • Implement and manage brand, product and service promotions
    • Assist Marketing Dept to actively showcase full product range at all customer events

    Research and Development Innovation:

    • Liaise with R&D Innovation, Marketing and Manufacturing for new product development
    • Work with customers in developing and manufacturing new innovations within their current and future product range
    • Identify innovation opportunities
    • Communicate product specification changes to customers
    • Analyse and interpret data and marketing information

    Reporting:

    •  Ensure that sales reports and prepared and discussed with customers/customer reviews compiled
