Business Controller at Glencore

ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Reporting to and supporting the Copper Africa Finance Lead, this role is responsible for support in executing all activities and deliverables within the Business Analysis and Planning (BAP) function for Copper Africa. General activities include budgeting, estimates, LOA reviews, activity-based cost reviews, financial analysis, financial modelling, and compiling executive reports and presentations. The incumbent in this role further supports the financial planning cycles of operating sites, performing in-depth financial-and scenario analysis, reviewing, and developing complex financial models, supporting strategic and Group finance projects, whilst also providing guidance to and supporting of finance teams and the implementation of the Copper Africa Finance operating model and objectives.

QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Post-Graduate Degree in Commerce of Accounting
• CA(SA)

Work Experience:

• 5 to 10 years’ relevant post article experience (Preferably in mining / natural resource industry)
• Extensive prior involvement in Reporting, Planning, Operational finance, and support services functions
• Demonstrated prior exposure and participation in strategic finance projects in a corporate role
• Prior SAP and/or Oracle experience beneficial

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Primary responsibility to support the Africa Finance Lead and ensure financial governance and discipline across all finance planning functions and related deliverables
• Oversee, review, and support all financial planning cycles of operating sites as well as corporate entities
• Manage and oversee the performance of in depth financial and scenario analysis
• Review and develop complex financial models
• Oversee and monitor projects within the various finance functions, including development of project management and tracking platforms
• Manage and oversee the development of advanced reporting tools and data analytic models to support reporting, reviews and decision making
• Manage and execute strategic and Group finance projects
• Provide guidance to and support finance teams to execute on their accountabilities
• Support implementation of Copper Africa Finance operating model and objectives
