    Associate Prudential Analyst

    Brief Description        

    • The main purpose of this position is to process, monitor and report on exchange control related applications/transactions by institutional investors and Authorised Dealers, ensuring   compliance in terms of the requirements of the Currency and Exchanges Manual for Authorised Dealers and the Exchange Control Regulations.

    Detailed Description        
    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Daily monitoring and reporting of institutional investors and authorised dealers exceptions.
    • Perform work independently within established practices, approved processes, rules and regulations, complying with standards, policies and other guidelines.
    • Maintain a reliable institutional investor and authorised dealers database.
    • Process applications/correspondence and ensure that regulated entities comply to the prescribed policies and the requirements outlined in the Currency and Exchanges Manual for Authorised Dealers.
    • Conduct risk-based inspections.
    • Attend meetings with stakeholders and provide support to management.
    • Prepare required statistical reports and ad hoc management information.
    • Proactively broaden knowledge and keep abreast with changes in policies and regulations of functional area.

    Job Requirements        
    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of

    • a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or an equivalent NQF level 7 qualification; and two to five years’ job-related experience in the banking or financial sector.

    Additional requirements include

    • sound knowledge of financial markets;
    • knowledge of financial instruments;
    • knowledge of the role of institutional investors in the financial sector;
    • knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and workflow packages like SharePoint;
    • an understanding of the key issues facing financial institutions and related entities;
    • knowledge of relevant risk management practices;
    • report writing;
    • planning and organising;
    • problem-solving and analytical skills;
    • financial and business acumen;
    • drive for results;
    • service and stakeholder focus; and
    • building and maintaining work relationships.
