Asset Controller at Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

Qualifications and experience required:

• National Diploma in Accounting.
• Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
• Two years’ relevant experience.

Key attributes and competencies:

• Knowledge of accounting policies related to fixed assets.
• Knowledge of inventory control and bar-coding procedures.
• Report-writing.
• Oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.

Job purpose:

• Conducting yearly physical stock-take to validate the accuracy and existence of movable assets on the groundworks within all Directorates to ensure the protection and the accuracy of inventory lists.
• Creating and monitoring a system of controls, procedures and forms or recording of movable assets, recommending to management any update of accounting policies related to fixed assets.
• As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
