    Administrator: Firearm Enforcement (Centurion)

    Requirements: 

    • Degree/ National Diploma in Office Administration/Business Administration/Public Administration or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification coupled with 2-3 years’ experience in administration, of which at least 2 years involved in extensive typing
    • Experience in a legal environment will be added advantage 
    • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and applicable knowledge and experience on the Job may be considered during the selection process.

    • Very high administrative skills, including
    • planning and monitoring eBasic understanding of firearm regulations and compliance
    • requirements 
    • High level of accuracy in managing records and preparing documents 
    • Ability to analyse data and generate reports eWritten and verbal communication skills 
    • Interpersonal and sound judgement skillse Report writing skills 
    • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders 
    • High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all administrative activities.

    Key Performance Areas: 
    Administrative Support: 

    • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the firearm enforcement team Manage and maintain records of firearm licenses, permits, and other related documentation 
    • Assist in the preparation and processing of firearm
    • license applications and renewals. 

    Data Management: 

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases of firearm registrations and compliance records 
    • Ensure all data entry is precise and regularly updated to reflect current information 
    • Generate reports and statistical data related to firearm enforcement activities. 

    Compliance Monitoring: 

    • Track and monitor compliance deadlines for firearm licenses and permits 
    • Notify firearm owners of upcoming renewals, inspections, and compliance requirements 
    • Assist in coordinating compliance checks and audits. 

    Document Preparation and Management: 

    • Prepare, organise, and distribute official documents, notices, and correspondence related to firearm enforcement
    • Ensure secure and confidential storage of sensitive information and records
    • Assist in drafting and proofreading reports, memos, and other official documents.

    Support for Investigations:

    • Provide administrative support for investigations into firearm-related offences
    • Assist in the compilation and organisation of evidence and documentation for case files
    • Maintain records of ongoing investigations and ensure timely updates.
