    Administrative Coordinator: Structured Master's in Engineering Management (MEM) Programme

    Duties/Pligte

    Programme Administration Duties:

    • Taking ownership of all aspects of the MEM programme's student affairs, including the coordination and administration of the MEM programme, its students, prospective students and alumni;
    • Being the point of contact for current students, prospective students, and alumni;
    • Assisting with quality control of programme module frameworks, documentation, and content. Reviewing and continuously improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the programme's administration;
    • Liaising with other administrative and support units in the University and assisting the Academic Programme Coordinator to administer external academics and tutors;
    • Supporting the related continuous education and short course programmes, including accreditation requirements;
    • Assisting with the administration of the programme's budget;
    • Performing ad hoc duties as determined by the APC.

    Research Assignment (RA) Module Support:

    • Assisting and supporting the (RA) Module Coordinator to manage the RA Module.

    Programme Marketing and Recruitment:

    • Assisting with the marketing of the MEM and associated short courses as well as the recruitment of suitable postgraduate students;
    • Marketing to alumni and industry. Organising, managing, administering and attending virtual open days and events, and coordinating industry and alumni functions, including those scheduled after hours, as well as on social media;
    • Liaising with the Faculty Marketing Committee;
    • Liaising with the website developer to keep website information, student portal and job postings up to date.

    Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

    • An appropriate bachelor's degree;
    • At least four years' experience in academic programme management;
    • Exceptional administrative skills;
    • Exceptional interpersonal and people skills, a caring nature and an engaging personality;
    • Fluency in English;
    • Problem-solving ability, and planning, organising and prioritising skills;
    • The ability to apply own judgement, to work independently, and to make sound decisions;
    • The ability to function well under pressure;
    • Previous postgraduate programme management experience, particularly including international and virtual students;
    • Understanding and experience of student administrative and related systems at SU (SUNStudent/SUNLearn and Legacy systems), and the ability to work with them and the key role players;
    • Experience of and intermediate-level skills in MS Word, MS Teams and other videoconferencing platforms, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Excel and WordPress;
    • The ability to program in Excel and WordPress;
    • Intermediate-level skills in Everlytics and knowledge of its various functionalities;
    • Intermediate-level skills in cloud computing, including MS SharePoint;
    • Intermediate knowledge of academic learning management systems (LMS), its capabilities and functions, as well as student administrative and related systems;
    • Experience with and knowledge of social media platforms, including LinkedIn and Twitter;
    • The ability to learn related new software packages and social media interfaces, and to continuously upgrade IT-related skills;
    • Experience in marketing academic programmes and successfully recruiting postgraduate students, as well as related marketing experience through various marketing channels, including social media.

    Recommendation/Aanbeveling

    • The ability to function effectively within a multilingual environment.
