Location: Premier Meadowview Depot

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Purpose of the job: Responsible for full finance function of Meadowview Depot.

Job objectives:

• Determine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods in order to accurately account for costing of products
• Ensure controls are implemented and operating effectively to mitigate the risk of fraud and material misstatements.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting on site performance
• Full understanding of the value chain

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Co-ordinate and participate in monthly stock take for Meadowview Depot. Ensure that accurate inventory counts are captured on the financial system
• Ensure intercompany loan accounts balance on a monthly basis
• Prepare and capture the month-end journals and ensure that month-end closure deadline is met
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Monthly reporting on expenses and inefficiencies in the value chain
• Annual budget preparation
• Co-ordinate and participate in annual asset verification
• Review and authorise creditors for payment
• Evaluates proposed capital projects and complete capex request
• Provide support to the Depot Manager on ad hoc requests and feasibility study
• Track the financial savings of Continuous Improvement Projects
• Prepare and assist with internal audits and external audits

Job specific requirements:

Job Knowledge:

• ERP system eg Microsoft Great plains or equivalent - Intermediate - Desirable
• Education and experience:
• BCom Accounting Hons.
• SAIPA/CIMA would be an advantage
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in FMCG/Manufacturing industry
