    Executive: Operational Procurement

    Job Description

    Leads and oversees the planning, organisation, execution and reporting of Operational Services within the Procurement Operational Services division, i.e. Logistics, Supplier Relationships Management and Demand by actively driving efficiency improvements of transactional procurement activities and embedding leading practices to ensure the achievement of corporate objectives and goals through effective leadership.

    • Strategy
      • Contribute and Execute the procurement strategies by implementing the procurement Operational Services best practices and standards. Develops plans, processes and procedures to provide an enabling environment to support continuous improvements
      • Continuously seek and innovate Procurement operational services offerings to clients
    • Financial (Satisfied Stakeholders) Manages the development of budgets, expenditure and performance reporting
      • Develops, manages, monitors and reports on the cost centre budget for the Procurement Operational Services in alignment with the Chief Procurement Officer
      • Engages business on executive and regional management level to ensure the Procurement Operational Services spend within the financial year is understood and managed in business with input on value delivery, continuous improvements, Service Level Agreements and issue resolution
      • Compiles and submits overall performance reports against Service Level Agreements to the Chief Procurement Officer
    • Operations (Leads and oversees the teams within the Procurement Operational Services)
      • Executes day to day supervision, management and optimisation of Procurement Operational Services activities.
      • Has functional and managerial accountability for Spot Buying, Procurement Master Data and Content Management, Market Intelligence, Procurement Customer Support, Logistics, Supplier Relationship Management and Demand.
      • Drives and champions the procurement analytics and reporting capability to ensure delivery of reports and data to support category teams
      • Accountable for leading the Procurement Operational Services team to provide quality services on time and ensure stability of the Procurement Operational Services processes
      • Establishes measures and controls to ensure and track successful implementation of plans in alignment with the overall KPI (Key Performance Indicator) framework
      • Benchmarks performance internally and externally to drive efficiency improvements in processes, user compliance and customer satisfaction
      • Develops procurement Operational Services risk mitigation and business continuity plans to ensure that BCX groups compliance standards are met
      • Refinement of Procurement Operational Services performance metrics, processes and targets in support of Service Level Agreements (SLA) with internal procurement customers and business functions
    • Customers (Manage internal customer relationships)
      • Manages overall internal customer feedback and query resolution on procurement process performance
      • Administers periodic surveys to measure customer feedback for continuous improvement
      • Responsible for facilitating two way communications with Sourcing teams and take improvement actions if required
      • Promotes the role of the Procurement Operational Services internal customers e.g. corporate and regional management
      • Improves and reinforces image within the internal customer community
      • Acts as a point of escalation for procurement Operational Services related queries
      • Manage and monitor client satisfaction through regular interactions.
    • Manages people performance and development
      • Manages the performance, development and implementation of team learning and growth plans, and provides coaching and mentoring to ensure ongoing learning and capability development within the team
      • Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with Operational Services and personal development needs

    Job Requirements :

    Qualifications/Certifications required

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
    • Degree in Supply Chain or Engineering or IT or Business/ Commerce (NQF level 7)
    • CIPS level 6 or MBA is preferred
    • Six Sigma Black Belt certificate is preferred

    Experience

    8-10 years experience in the Back Office/ Shared Services/ Procurement Operations environment. A minimum of 4-6 years in a management position supervising day to day shared services Operational Services, including transactional procurement and procurement support functions.
