    Commercial Mining Manager

    Job description

    When you are a Commercial Manager at Caterpillar, you will manage and coordinate marketing activities and commercial process worldwide. You will ensure the continued growth of Remanufactured Products sales. You will coordinate, develop, and implement worldwide marketing strategies to support the marketing activities of the Distribution Services Division (DSD’s) and the Marketing & Product Support Center of Excellence (M&PS COE).

    Job Duties/Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To

    • Provide individual and project team guidance along with management coaching and consulting aimed at the effective integration of product marketing strategies worldwide (i.e. reporting, NPI, product and business development, corporate processes and procedures).
    • Grow profitable business and manage cost structure/business plans.
    • Actively promote business development in the worldwide.
    • Serve as liaison between Caterpillar Logistics, Caterpillar marketing organizations, and the division.
    • Serve as primary resource for field staff and dealers in all issues including training, technical support, CPI, new product demand/requirements, etc.
    • Business planning and forecasting of worldwide business as well as marketing/merchandising programs.
    • Manage the products branded as Caterpillar; identification of new products to be developed, coordination through the NPI process, interface with MPSD and revenue management, coordination of market launch and communications.
    • Develop and update forecasts, provide S&OP input data, ensure product availability and profitability.
    • Manage a work unit of primarily management/professional employees; monitor and review work of subordinates as well as train, develop and mentor.
    • Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.
    • Considerable interaction a multifunctional team environment; use informal influence and direction to accomplish team objectives through others.
    • Quickly and correctly identify problems that may not be obvious and solve problems; determine the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions.

    Required Qualifications

    • Thorough knowledge of company products and product applications, dealer network, merchandising programs, and/or warranty practices and procedures.
    • Broad company knowledge and strong understanding of dealer operations.
    • A college or university degree or equivalent experience.
    • 13 to 15 years of progressively responsible job related experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
