Job description

• Managing the planned and unplanned maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and services by outside contractors
• Managing the computerised maintenance system such that all work is under control in accordance with applicable FDA/ MHRA & MCA guidelines
• To manage all equipment records in accordance with applicable FDA/ MHRA & MCA guidelines
• Manage the calibration of equipment and planned preventative maintenance as required
• Assist in project management, from the planning phase to the qualification phase
• Management of equipment “up time” and “down time” to maximize productivity
• Introduce and improve on existing planned preventative maintenance schedules/ strategies
• Engineering issues are dealt with in line with customer service philosophy (maintenance schedules, contractors, calibration methods)
• Ensure maximised use of equipment and technology
• Equipment is maintained according to standard operating procedures and updating/ introduction of SOP’s as required

Requirements

• National diploma/ BSc degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering N5 or equivalent NQF level certificate (e.g. Mechanical Engineering)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership/ management role in maintenance/ technical field
• Minimum of 5 years technical hands on experience in food/ diary/ pharmaceutical Factory maintenance environment
• Specialized knowledge in Instrumentation calibration, PLC’s and control systems
• Safety system experience and OHS act exposure
• Change control and validation principles knowledge
• Computerized planned & unplanned preventative maintenance
• Project planning and execution experience
