Leadership and Functional

Lead the materials planning process for the RTD’s

Purpose of Role

• To ensure overall continuity of supply at all times across the Southern Africa markets for Spirits where Isipingo and 3rd Parties are Supply Sources
• To manage the materials planning/scheduling interface between all stakeholders involved

Top Accountabilities

Key Outputs

• Rolling 18 month material plan for Isipingo, weekly and Monthly buckets
• Rolling bulk blending materials plan for all RTD/Cider requirement from co-packers
• Ensure availability of materials at supply sources
• Monthly S&OP (IBP) Supply Review input for locally produced spirits
• Management of inventory levels in support of agreed inventory targets & customer service levels as set in conjunction with Commercial
• Monitoring performance and identifying and communicating reasons for deviation
• Manage for value across the Diageo Supply Chain (E.g. minimize write-offs, double handling, etc)
• Single point of contact for RTD materials planner
• Ensure integration of all innovations/renovation with the normal weekly and monthly planning processes
• Communication to the business regarding current and expected national inventory shortages or risks (e.g. national level aging risks)

Relationships

• Supply Sources (Isipingo and Co-Packers)
• Finance teams to understand annual financial plans, and impact of Supply Chain decisions on finance
• Demand Planners to ensure demand is interpreted correctly, and the drivers behind changes
• Supply Chain Leadership Team and to ensure information sharing regarding national inventory risks and opportunities (through S&OP process and ad hoc interaction)
• Marketing, Innovation and supply project teams to ensure integration of all projects with the weekly and monthly supply plans
• Key performance indicators
• Order Fill Rate
• Optimised Inventory Levels
• Performance against inventory and cash targets
• Adherence to plan
• Stability of material plans
• Optimum Partnership Agreements defined, maintained & adhered to
• OTIF
• Stock write-off

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Strong and proven leadership track record
• At least 3 years’ experience in Material Planning (FMCG)
• Supply Chain related university degree
• Strong familiarity with planning and transactional systems (SAP R/3 and APO an advantage)
• Track record of success in highly demanding organizations
• Proven understanding of S&OP, Supply Chain, Planning, and sales cycles
• At least 5 years’ experience working in a national/multi-national corporate environment
