    Fraud & Risk Manager

    Job description

    To detect and report online fraudulent activities. To ensure that preventative measures are put in place to eliminate any online fraudulent transactions. Manage the customer payment process and making sure payments are allocated and queries answered within a reasonable timeframe.

    The Key Responsibility Areas

    • Payment analysis & Gateway management
    • Manage the rules on the payment Gateway to ensure successful purchases for legitimate purchasing customers. Take responsibility for the management of the payment gateways. This will include the coordination between all the departments.
    • Manage chargeback and refund process. Adjust where necessary and document new process. CBs - Presentments - Refunds
    • Ensure that Chargebacks are done within minimum time frame between the transactions taking place to avoid chargebacks and client disputes and that they do not exceed the MasterCard and Visa Codes of 2%
    • Analyse payments on a daily basis and look for suspicious payments and payments that failed that looks legitimate
    • Manage the refund process. This will include the process to handle chargeback’s, identify customer accounts associated to these and block them
    • Respond to system alerts that will notify you on suspicious activity based on pre-determines scenarios.
    • Manage and maintain our relationships with our acquirers, basic account maintenance, relationship management, pricing changes and issues regarding queries
    • Fraud Prevention
    • Propose new rule sets to lower fraud while still giving good customer experience during the payment process
    • Implement preventative measures to prohibit fraudulent activities
    • Provide monthly reports on fraud and fraud prevention
    • Make contact with suspicious customers to verify within PCI-DSS limitations whether it is a potential legitimate sale.
    • Investigate all suspicious transactions, and possible Syndicates, Investigate patterns and trends
    • Lock accounts and add to Internal Block lists as well as on the gateway level and escalate to acquirer where possible,
    • Oversee and manage the entire Payments and Fraud Roles with all their responsibilities.
    • Assist with G&A Projects as determined from time to time as well as the automation and enhancement of current systems, processes and controls within the finance department.

    Requirements

    • A minimum of 5 years online fraud analyst experience
    • Certified Fraud Examiner Certification
    • Knowledge of/and technical know-how of operating systems and Internet
    • IT diploma an advantage
    • Troubleshooting skills

    • Good verbal expression
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to think creatively and take an innovative and flexible approach to problem solving in a fast changing technology driven company
    • Self-starter who can work with minimum of supervision
    • Be able to work under pressure with very strict deadlines and to deliver on time high quality outputs
    • Strong written and oral communication skills which can be adapted to a range of audiences
    • Experience in managing change and innovation to improve performance
    • Experience of creating and sustaining a culture of responsive, timely, reliable and knowledgeable service to users
    • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage personal and departmental schedules effectively to meet tight deadlines
    • Manage and provide leadership to the direct reports, ensuring they produces timely, accurate and relevant financial & management accounting information
    • Experience of developing effective relationships with colleagues at all levels which command, respect, trust and confidence Must have the ability to recognize trends and fraud behaviour.
