Foods Dept - Procurement Specialist / Strategic Sourcer at Tristan Group

Job description

• A national and international strategic sourcing and procurement specialist is sought to join the food and catering supplies team (food and non-food products).
• Strategic sourcing of suppliers and products (locally and internationally) via our database, market research, Internet, networking, etc.
• Negotation with suppliers/manufacturers.
• Establish profitable partnerships with service providers and compile comprehensive and competetive commercial propositions.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience working in a purchasing environment in the wholesale or retail industry.
• Preferably knowledge of South African and/or international food and catering industry.
• Preferably minimum of 2 years experience in export of food supplies (including fresh and frozen produce), catering consumables and catering equipment.
• Excellent negotiating skills.
• French and/or Portuguese speaking a plus.
• Able to work independently and under enormous pressure.
• Drivers licence and own roadworthy vehicle.
