    The Organisation

    • The Video Entertainment segment of Naspers is a broad-based multinational media group headquartered in South Africa and Dubai with principal operations in pay television and video entertainment.     • An African platform operator, Video Entertainment’s expertise lies distributing media products, creating media content and selling advertising. Its key areas of operations are:
    • Pay Television: direct-to-home satellite and digital terrestrial television services; and
    • SVOD: subscription video on demand services across multiple online platforms with a focus on library and local content in developing markets

    Brief Synopsis:

    • This role will operate across all of MultiChoice Africa’s product categories and will be responsible for management of the associated Trade Marketing Managers and Retail/Corporate Sales managers in each country as well as PAN African Retailers based in SA.
    • The incumbent will be required to maintaining long term relationships with accounts and maximizing sales opportunities within them combined with achieving company sell-out sales target & category market share growth through developing & implementing BTL (principally) strategies within brand guidelines as well as customers' & shoppers' expectations.

    Key Performance Objectives

    • Develop and implement effective strategic plans and goals to achieve sales objectives and budgets.
    • Plan and implement sales promotional activities to the achievement of sales objectives in co-ordination with Marketing and Retail Management.
    • Liaise with internal departments to ensure the formalization of the retail landscape and strategy.
    • Liaise with internal departments to ensure that sales objectives are met.
    • Monitor competitor activities by obtaining information on competitors and market trends.
    • Provide accurate information on competitors to facilitate effective decision making.
    • Effectively manage the channel sales function to maximize sales and profitability objectives.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate forecasts for the channel and all its strategic customers.
    • Develop a sell-out management strategy with the Business Head.
    • Establish and strengthen relationships between MAL and customers.
    • Quarterly and Annual Promotional Planning and management.
    • Plan in coordination with Marketing and Sales the support for all new launches.
    • Organize and direct marketing and strategy meetings on a regular basis whereby the strategy and channel plans are reviewed.
    • Develop sales presenters & road shows for sales teams whenever needed.
    • Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reviews of Business performance.
    • Budget Planning
    • Agency partnership management

    Qualifications

    • Matric
    • Degree/Diploma in Sales and or Marketing - Essential

    Experience / Skills

    • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar environment i.e. Channel Sales, Account Management, Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing
    • Strong knowledge of the Telco/Broadcast market
    • Experience in managing relationships with Customers and Suppliers
    • Must have Advanced Excel skills
    • Must have solid PowerPoint skills
