    Financial Manager - Equipment Sales Segment and Inventory

    Job Description

    We have the below vacancy available in our Organisation:

    The G Band Manager: Terminals role is based within Finance Operations

    The purpose of the role is to manage the overall accounting process for the Terminals (Equipment Sales) Segment including the consistent application of sales revenue and inventory accounting policies that complies with IFRS.

    Your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to the below:

    • Work with the R2R Terminals Team to monitor and analyse the Terminals Segment sales and cost of sales transactions to ensure the consistent application of Revenue and Inventory accounting policies as well as accurate and timely reporting.
    • Review and analyse Inventory and Cost of Sales SAP accounts to various sub ledger and legacy systems in cooperation with the Warehouse, IT, other finance teams and business stakeholders.
    • Validate and review monthly journals to ensure accurate reporting of the Terminals Segment profit and loss as well as the related Inventory and Payables.
    • Manage the Procure to Pay (P2Pprocess) as it relates to inventory payables and ensure timely payment of equipment suppliers
    • Interpret supplier contracts and supplier deal letters to ensure that rebates are correctly accounted for in compliance with IFRS.
    • Perform key trend analysis for the Terminals Segment results to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of the results.
    • Design and produce robust management reports to support management reviews and to provide insights and analysis to the business
    • Prepare interim and year-end audit packs and financial statements as they relate to Inventory and Cost of Sales
    • Partner with the Terminals team to design and implement appropriate internal controls and SOX controls for the Inventory and Equipment Sales process.
    • Coordinate the physical stock taking with the commercial teams and external parties to ensure accurate stock counting process in compliance with company policy
    • Maintain effective controls around Inventory GL reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations related to the Terminals segment
    • Manage all the internal and external audit requirements.
    • Develops inventory KPI analysis reports to ensure that abnormal variances are identified and resolved timely
    • Drive process improvement and automation projects around the Inventory and the related P2P process

    In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have an in depth knowledge and understanding of the following:

    • Knowledge of ERP systems
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Analytical and IT skills
    • Problem solving, query management and project management skills
    • Telecommunications market and SAP background preferable
    • Stakeholder management and engagement
    • Drive for results
    • Deadline driven
    • Good communication skills
    • Strong IT focus and aptitude

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • B.Com Degree (Finance)
    • 5 years’ relevant experience e.g. accounting, inventory, audit articles etc.
    • Systems implementation and project management
    • Advanced levels of experience in financial and business analysis
    • Interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate with various stakeholders
    • Ability to work under pressure

    Desired

    • SAP and HFM experience
    • ICT industry experience
    • CIMA or CA (SA)

    The base location for this role is Midrand, Vodacom Campus
