    Senior Coordinator

    Job description

    We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for this permanent position in the Off-Campus Student Accommodation Services office for appointment as soon as possible.

    Requirements:

    • An NQF (7) qualification with not less than 3 years Residential Letting experience OR 10 years’ experience in the formal Residential Letting sector.
    • Demonstrated experience dealing with contracts pertaining to lease agreements and housing.
    • Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation.
    • Knowledge of Safety, Health and Environment issues.
    • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills.
    • Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel).
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • A valid code 08 driver’s license.
    • Knowledge of Student Affairs practices and principles will be an advantage.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support DSA/SHRL in developing a strategy to meet the demands of campus accommodation for students.
    • Coordinate and facilitate the OCSAS office by rendering a professional service to the private residential letting needs of students.
    • Compile a comprehensive data base of suitable premises, completing market rental surveys and negotiating the best possible market related lease terms and conditions suitable to students according to their financial affordability.
    • Ensure that all listings are fully accredited in terms of the legislated Minimum Norms and Standards as per DHET Housing policy.
    • Provide an advocacy service to ensure that students and landlords are adequately protected through preparation of lease agreements where required, offer professional advice, make recommendations and assist in strengthening the landlord tenant (student) relationship to ensure that adequate services are rendered in line with relevant legislation.
    • The annual cost of employment, including benefits (where applicable), is R417 668 – R491 373.
