- Stay abreast of new tax legislation and assess the impact on the South African group entities advising the Corporate Tax Specialist accordingly
- Provide support with the corporate simplification initiatives in South Africa
- Obtain inputs from all stakeholders as pre reads to the Tax Committee meetings
- Assist Corporate Tax Manager with transfer pricing compliance
- Collection of WHT certificates to evidence WHT suffered
- Calculation of WHT relief available in terms of local legislation
- Completion of WHT returns for submission to SARS
- Maintaining monthly schedules for tax sensitive accounts (travel, repairs, professional fees, etc)
- Compiling all information necessary for completion of tax returns (including S18A certificates, learnership forms, bad debt schedules, etc)
- Accurate completion of tax returns
- Assist with ad hoc requests from Corporate Tax Specialist
- Preparation of journal entries
- Assist with deferred tax reconciliations and packs for disclosure in the annual financial statements of the South African entities
- Prepare HFM schedules, quarterly reporting schedules and tax account reconciliations
- Agree the format of submissions to be made with Corporate Tax Manager
- Collate information and investigate queries from SARS
- Timeously respond to all queries and minimise the impact of the audit on the business
- Consult with affected departments to ensure correction of errors

- The job holder should have obtined an H.Dip Tax or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of five years tax compliance experience in an corporate environment
- Knowledge of key elements of the Finance function.
- A thorough understanding and knowledge of financial management and systems generally
- Basic knowledge of the following software packages is also required: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and SAP.
- South African citizenship or permanent residency Experience in corporate tax within the FMCG industry
- Understanding of other functional areas, e.g. Operations and Marketing
