    Head of Learning - Discovery People

    Job description

    Key Purpose

    To support delivery of Discovery’s ambition by identifying and deploying effective group-wide learning and development interventions. To contribute to high levels of employee attraction, engagement and retention through unparalleled learning and development experiences.

    Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to

    • Support development of the Group’s Organisation & Leadership Development Strategy based on our Ambition and organisational growth requirements
    • Consult with senior business leaders, HR Business Partners and other key stakeholders to evaluate Organisational Learning and Development Needs, and design and implement appropriate interventions
    • Maintain a portfolio of group-wide interventions that uphold and enhance Discovery’s unique disruptive culture
    • Lead and manage the Group Learning team on design, delivery, continuous improvement and measurement of learning impact of Group Learning programmes
    • Build effective partnerships with leading learning providers including universities and business schools to ensure a portfolio of high-quality customised programmes
    • Drive internal and external branding and marketing of the unparalleled learning and development experiences offered at Discovery

    Education and Experience

    • Matric or equivalent
    • Relevant 3 year degree and / or post graduate qualification
    • Proven experience of identifying, designing and delivering high quality and effective learning, development and cultural interventions in a consulting or corporate environment
    • 5 to 8 years’ experience in Learning, Leadership Development, Cultural Development
    • Business acumen with expertise in adult learning principles and design, leadership development, behavioural change and cultural transformation
    • Very strong problem solving, stakeholder management and communication skills required
