You will be responsible for all routine administrative duties of a fast-growing business. Mainly Bookkeeping and managing accounts receivables. The position is on a part-time basis: 16 hours throughout the week, divided over 4 days.
Daily tasks include
- Bookkeeping. Invoicing customers. Capturing procurement invoices and bank transactions from FNB, Sagepay and Payfast. Reconciliation of accounts.
- Generating and submitting debit order batches via Sagepay.
- Managing Accounts Receivables: Keeping track thereof, sending payment reminders, following up with debtors, handing debtors over to a debt collecting agency.
Occasionally
- Coördinating with our Accountant and the Finance colleagues from our sister branch in the Netherlands.
- Preparing books so they are ready for annual review by our Accountant.
You’re comfortable with managing your own work. You work well in a team, but don’t need anybody to tell you what to do. You know how to prioritise. You’re meticulous and thorough. You like working with numbers and like dealing with people.
Key requirements to perform responsibilities
- Based in Cape Town
- Qualification in Bookkeeping/ Accounting
- At least 2 years work experience in Bookkeeping and Accounting
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills; both verbally and in writing
- Business acumen, thoroughness
- Self-management: Self-confidence, adaptability and strong sense of personal accountability
- Organised, good at multi-tasking and able to prioritise
- Able to think on your feet and have a forward-thinking mindset
- Experience with Xero
- Experience working independently in a minimally structured environment
