    BI Data Analyst

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform data analysis to map and model data into a central repository.
    • Design proof of concepts and support developers to ensure successful delivery.
    • Guide clear data storytelling and visualisation to ensure meaningful insights are shared with stakeholders.
    • Design optimal data visualizations and mockups, and build, or oversee, dashboards/reports.

    Senior Data Analyst

    Key Responsibilities:

    Data Management:

    • Structure data to meet compliance standards by adhering to metadata governance procedures.
    • Manage transformed data content according to prescribed standards for reviewing and publishing.
    • Assist in the population of data marts and metadata repositories, ensuring adherence to standards and processes.
    • Maintain project data models across multiple levels of detail and functionality (conceptual, logical, normalised, relational, dimensional, etc.).
    • Provide detailed analysis and data mapping for each data item, ensuring accurate information supports business requirements.

    Business Intelligence Support:

    • Provide consulting services to business units, delivering relevant data and information.
    • Analyse business requirements from documents and end-user discussions.
    • Identify data requirements, security needs, and business rules associated with data.
    • Perform data profiling of source systems and detailed analysis of implemented data.
    • Support business units with ad-hoc reporting and ongoing data analysis.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and provide status updates.
    • Present data quality issues and resolutions to business users and source system owners.
    • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops and collaborate with stakeholders to define data needs.
    • Communicate project data-related information to architects, DBA’s, developers, and users.

    Process Improvement:

    • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity, complying with governance frameworks.
    • Transition information and assist DBA’s with physical data model implementation.
    • Support data migration and testing, ensuring the effectiveness of data solutions.

    Skills & Experience Required:

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
    • Strong knowledge of data profiling, data quality management, and data mapping.
    • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools.
    • Hands-on experience in building conceptual data models.
    • Familiarity with data migration projects and NoSQL environments is advantageous.

    Industry Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data analysis, with at least 3 years in insurance or financial services.
    • Experience in managing data within a highly regulated environment.
    • Prior experience in working with complex data sets and supporting business intelligence initiatives.

    • High competency in problem-solving and data analysis.

    BI Analyst/Developer

    Duties / Responsibilities:

    • Work on the successful implementation and execution of complex BI/Data projects within defined timelines.
    • Use agile and portfolio management methodologies to enhance project efficiency.
    • Provide strategic guidance to senior stakeholders by translating business demands into actionable data insights.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data management, business intelligence, and analytical tools.
    • Ensure adherence to data management best practices, focusing on data integrity, quality, and security.

    • Implement data governance and security measures.
    • Optimise the data warehouse for query efficiency.

    Microsoft BI Tools:

    • Develop and deploy reports using Microsoft SSRS and Power BI.
    • Design and implement ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS.
    • Manage and version control BI projects using Azure DevOps.

    Skills and Experience Required:

    • 5+ years of experience in BI development and analysis.
    • Experience in the financial services investment industry or strong understanding of the investment lifecycle across various asset types (Equities, ETFs, Unit Trusts, Fixed income, Derivatives).
    • Proficiency in Power BI and SQL.
    • Strong skills in data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
    • Experience with Microsoft SSRS, SSIS, and Azure DevOps.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.

    Specialist QA Engineer

    Duties / Responsibilities:

    • Develop and design automation testing plans for multiple products/services.
    • Create and maintain automation test scripts, ensuring alignment with chosen testing frameworks and guidelines.
    • Perform functional, automation, and front-end testing, API testing, and regression testing.
    • Collaborate with the testing team to address over 200 industry message types with various permutations, where manual testing is not feasible.
    • Work with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems to streamline testing processes.

    Skills and Experience Required:

    Mandatory Skills:

    • Testing Methodologies: Functional Testing, Automation Testing, Front-End Testing, API Testing.
    • Testing Frameworks: Cucumber, TestNG, Data-driven and Hybrid frameworks.
    • Automation Tools: Selenium, Rest.
    • Programming Languages: Java (minimum Java 8 proficiency).
    • Build Tools: Maven.
    • Version Control: GIT, Bitbucket.
    • CI/CD: Jenkins, Docker.
    • MQ Testing: Assured, MQ knowledge is important.

    Desired Skills:

    • Agile Tools: Atlassian Suite.
    • Cloud Expertise: AWS knowledge is a plus.

    Additional Criteria:

    • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on automation testing experience.
    • Strong understanding of SWIFT CBPR+ protocols, with reputational implications for international banking.
    • Ability to work in a hybrid model, primarily in Gauteng.

    Qualifications/Certifications:

    Duties:

    Macro environment

    • Engage with the macro-environment to look for new opportunities, capabilities and trends that would add value to the required development work
    • Suggest changes in executing work processes to better drive value and benefits for the business
